How to Create a New Court Case in Justikal

The following instructions will help you create a new case. All users can create a new case. 

Follow these steps to get started:

Step 1

Sign in to Justikal

Begin by signing in to Justikal. Once you're logged in, you'll see an overview of your cases under "My Cases".

Step 2

Start a New Case

In "My Cases", click the "New Case" button on the left side of the screen and select a "Court Case".

Step 3

Fill Out Case Details

A window will open where you can enter the details for the new case.

3.1. Choose Court and Case Type

To send a case to a court, start by selecting the "Court" and "Case Type".

If you choose "Appeal" or "Charge", you'll be able to enter a "Related Case" - this is the case number of the ruling or judgment being appealed. If you know the case number, you can suggest it as a reference.

3.2. Add Participants and Define Their Access

Next, define who will participate in the case and their roles.

  • Enter an valid e-mail address.
  • Full name.
  • Assign a role.
  • And choose one of the three access levels: No access, Read access or Submit access.
  • For additional security, you can also choose the country of citizenship and provide an identification code (from a passport or driver’s license). The user will then need to complete our video onboarding process to verify their identity.
  • Lastly, if the user is representing a company, you can enter either the company’s registration number or its name.

3.3. Upload Documents

Now choose the documents you want to submit.

  • Click or drag files into the grey area to upload them from your computer.
  • You can upload one or more documents at once.
  • We recommend using PDF files for written documents to ensure the best user experience. Justikal also supports video, audio, Word, Excel files and much more.
  • Other file types will automatically be converted into an ASiC container for secure digital sealing.

3.4. Overview and Submission

In the final step "Overview and Submission", you'll see a summary of the case.

  • Double-check that all information is correct.
  • If anything needs to be changed, click "Back" to update the details.
  • You can also add a payment receipt for the court fee.
  • Once everything looks good, click "Submit Case".
Step 4

Case Status

The case will now appear under "Court Cases" in the menu on the left, with the status set to "In Progress".
