At the last general meeting of Justikal, a new board was elected. The new board is intended to facilitate the company's growth both in the domestic and in foreign markets.

The new board consists of the following members:

Helgi Hermannsson (chairman of the board), CEO & Founder of Sling and former CEO and Co-founder og Gagnverk.

Hanna Birna Kristjánsdóttir, Chair & Co-Founder of the Reykjavik Global Forum, Senior Advisor UN Women. Former member of Parliament, Mayor of Reykjavík and Minister.

Heimir Fannar Gunnlaugsson, CEO of Nanitor and former CEO of Microsoft in Iceland.

The debt collection company Gjaldskil has implemented Justikal's eDelivery services to digitally present summonses and other data to their clients. Justikal's goal is to expedite court proceedings, enhance convenience, and prioritize security.

Gjaldskil provides comprehensive debt collection solutions, from initial collection to legal collection. The company specializes in electronic solutions for claims management and billing, and recently took a significant step by implementing digital summons presentations through the Justikal system.

Gjaldskil's strategy is to lead in electronic and efficient collection solutions. They were the first to fully implement electronic billing processes, and the electronic issuance of summonses with Justikal is a part of that progression. "With this, we aim to ensure prompt and secure delivery of notices to the correct parties, while also reducing costs for payers," says Dagbjört Hauksdóttir, director of legal collection at Gjaldskil ehf.

The sender uploads a document and provides the recipient's name, social security number, and email address.

Next, the sender selects a deadline by which the document must be delivered and may request that the recipient electronically signs the document to confirm receipt.

Finally, the sender can include a message to the recipient along with the document.

The recipient receives an email from Justikal containing a link to the document and is prompted to verify their identity using an electronic ID in order to access the document's contents.

If the sender has requested an electronic signature, the recipient proceeds to sign the document.

The sender ultimately receives a delivery report once the document has been successfully delivered. Furthermore, they can track the progress within Justikal, including whether the recipient has verified their identity, received the document, and signed it, if required.

 When utilizing the service for serving summons, users must ensure the following:

That the summons contains a declaration stating that a copy of it has been delivered, if it is served for the defendant personally which he needs to sign. If the summons is served a Supreme Court attorney or district court attorney on behalf of the defendant then attorney needs to sign a a declaration of the same type in which it is also stated that the defendant has commissioned him or her with attending the court for him or her when the case is registered.

Additionally, users are reminded to comply with the provisions outlined in Chapter XIII of the Code of Civil Procedure No. 91/1991 regarding the serving of summons. It is imperative that users adhere to any specific requirements stipulated by law concerning the manner in which documents should be served.
