We make legal proceedings faster, more convenient, and safer. Justikal is an eCourt system that enables parties in legal proceedings to handle documents in a trusted & secure way by using eIDAS compliant trust services.

By creating Court Cases in Justikal’s secure environment, where all parties have access to case documents, unnecessary phone calls and emails between parties can be reduced. Keeping all documents in one place increases efficiency, provides a better overview, and simplifies communication.

Lawyers can create Court Cases in the system and grant clients permission to upload documents, making the collection of information and documentation both easier and more secure. 

Justikal is accessible through web browsers on computers, tablets, and smartphones, providing easy access to case documents anytime, anywhere. OCR functionality makes it easy to search across all submitted documents, and if documents contain electronic signatures or seals, the system provides an eIDAS-certified validation service to verify their authenticity.

The system promotes better organization and greater transparency, resulting in better service and giving clients greater confidence that their case is in safe hands.

The court case list shows all court cases you are involved in - whether you created them, are a case party, or are assigned as a judge.

In the left navigation, click "Court cases" to open the court case list.

The list shows court cases with statuses "Pending", "In progress", and "Closed". Each case item displays the case number, court name, plaintiffs, defendants, and case status. You can switch between list view and grid view.

To expand a case item and see more details - including the judge, all parties, and sealing status - click on the case row.

To filter the list, use the search bar (searches by case number, case ID, party name, or document name), the court filter dropdown, or the status tabs (All cases, Pending, In progress, Closed). You can also change the sort order using the "Order by" dropdown.

To open a case, click on the case number. This will take you to the case details page.

The general case list shows all general cases you are involved in - whether you created them or are a case party.

General Case List

The following instructions help you send a document securely using eDelivery in Justikal. eDelivery is a certified electronic delivery service that provides legal proof of delivery.

In the left navigation, click "eDelivery" to go to the eDeliveries list. Here you can see all previously sent eDeliveries and their status.

Click the "+ New eDelivery document" button in the top right corner.

On the "New document" form, upload the PDF document you want to send by clicking or dragging the file to the upload area.

Under "Recipient", enter the full name of the recipient. If "Additional security" is enabled, also select the recipient's citizenship and enter their personal ID number.

If "Send eDelivery via email" is enabled, enter the recipient's email address. You may also add an optional message to include in the notification email.

Optionally, under "Advanced services", you may select additional options: "Request signature from recipient", "Seal confirmation report", "Send via SMS". You may also set a "Final deadline" for the recipient to access the document.

Click "Submit" to send the eDelivery. The recipient will receive an email notification with a secure link to access the document.

Send a Document Using Registered eDelivery

The following instructions help you submit an existing general case to court in Justikal.

Open a general case from the "General cases" list.

On the case overview page, click the "Submit to court" button to open the court submission wizard.

Fill in the court case identification details: select the court, the case type (New, Charge, or Appeal), and if applicable the related case number or scheduled filing date.

Review the case parties and documents. Optionally upload the court fees payment receipt.

Click "Submit" to submit the case to court. The case status changes to "Pending", case documents are sealed, and the court and case parties are notified by email.

The following instructions help you view and edit your personal profile information in Justikal.

Click on your name or profile icon in the left navigation to go to your profile page.

Your profile shows your personal details (full name, personal code, phone number, company name, language, time zone), email address, and consents.

To edit your details, click the "Edit personal details" button. You can update your phone number, company name, preferred language, and time zone. Click "Save" to apply changes. If you change the language, the system will reload with the new language.

The following instructions will help you change the title of a document in a case that has already been created. Only the case administrators can change document titles.

Follow these steps to change the title of a document in a court case:

Open the relevant case in which you want to change the document title.

Select the specific document you want to change the title of, and open the document.

Above the document, there is a section titled "General Information". Open this section and click the Edit button.

All user actions are logged in the case audit trail and document audit trail for security purposes and to ensure full transparency among case participants.

The following instructions will help you view and search for events or interactions within a case.

All actions in a case are recorded in the event log of the respective case and document, which can be viewed under the "Audit Log" tab.

Users can view all interactions in the case, except for how many times parties open specific documents.

The audit log can be filtered by "Event Type" and "Participants".

How to Request New Access for a Party in Justikal

The following instructions will help you understand how to submit a confirmation of court fee payment.

When a NEW CASE is being created, you can add the payment confirmation as follows:

In the final step (Step 4) of creating a new case — "Overview and Submission" — you will see a summary of the case, allowing you to review that all information is correct.

If you find any errors, you can always click "Back" to update the details.

At this stage, you also have the option to "Add payment receipt" for the court fee.

Once you have reviewed all the information and confirmed that it is correct, click the "Submit Case" button.

Documents in Justikal are electronically sealed to ensure the integrity and origin of the data.

Documents in Justikal are electronically sealed to ensure the integrity and origin of the data. It is possible to seal various types of data, such as PDFs, Excel files, video and audio recordings. The electronic seal includes a qualified timestamp, making it impossible to falsify the time of sealing. 

Once a document has been electronically sealed, its content can no longer be altered. If any changes are made to the content after sealing, the seal is broken, and this is immediately visible to the user when verifying the document in Justikal.

Justikal has a built-in validation service that can verify electronic signatures and seals created using any solution. This validation service is eIDAS-certified. The system displays detailed information about electronic seals and signatures, specifically whether the signature is simple, advanced, or qualified.

The following instructions will help you understand the different types of access in Justikal. There are four types of access in the system: Administrator, Write, Read, and No Access.

How to Create a New Court Case in Justikal

The following steps explain how to delete your Justikal account. Note: you can only delete your account if you have no active cases and no pending payments.

Go to your profile page by clicking your name or profile icon in the left navigation.

If you have active cases or pending payments, you will be informed that your account cannot be deleted until these are resolved.

If your account is eligible for deletion, you will be asked to confirm the action. Re-authentication may be required as an additional security step.

Upon confirming, your account will be deactivated, your personal information cleared, and you will be redirected to the login screen. Cases you created but no longer control will remain unaffected.

How to Delete Your Account in Justikal

The following instructions help you change the email address associated with your Justikal account.

Click the "Change email" button next to your email address.

Enter your new email address and click "Save". A verification email will be sent to your new address.

Open the verification email and click the link to confirm your new email address. The link is valid for 1 hour. Once verified, your email address will be updated in your profile.

How to Change Your Email Address in Justikal

The incoming court cases view (also called Regular Proceedings) is available to Judges and Court Administrators. It shows all court cases assigned to a specific court.

In the left navigation, click "Incoming cases" to open the regular proceedings list.

By default, your court is pre-selected. Use the court selection dropdown to switch to a different court.

Each case item displays the case number, scheduled filing date, plaintiffs, defendants, court name, and case status. You can switch between list view and grid view.

To expand an item and see all parties in the case, click on the case row.

To filter the list, use the search bar (searches by case number, case ID, party name, or document name), the status tabs (All cases, Pending, In progress, Closed), the date filter, or the "Order by" dropdown.

Incoming Court Cases

The following instructions help you log in to Justikal. Justikal uses electronic authentication via the Dokobit identity gateway.

Select your preferred authentication method. Justikal supports Smart-ID, Mobile-ID, ID card, and other electronic identity methods depending on your country.

Follow the on-screen prompts for your chosen method to verify your identity.

Once authenticated, you will be redirected to your Justikal dashboard. If it is your first time logging in, you may be shown an onboarding overview of the system.
